The Creator Tip Jar will let supporters send voluntary digital gratuities ("tips") to independent creators through Meta Muse. Tips recognize creative work — they are not purchases of goods, contractual deliverables, or tax-deductible charitable donations.
Tips are strictly non-refundable once settled. A tip is a voluntary gratuity, not a purchase, and confers no right of return or cancellation. This policy will be displayed at checkout before you confirm. Reversals occur only for platform-initiated reasons (proven fraud, duplicate charge).
The platform service fee is 1.5% of the tip or $0.10, whichever is greater. By default ("Supporter Pledge"), the supporter covers card processing and the platform fee so the creator receives 100% of the intended tip; the full breakdown will be shown before confirmation. If a supporter declines the pledge, fees are deducted from the tip and the reduced net will be displayed before confirmation. Minimum tip: $2.00.
Card-network chargebacks can occur regardless of the non-refundable policy. When they do, liability rests solely with the creator's connected Stripe account: the disputed amount plus Stripe's dispute fee (currently $15) is debited against the creator's balance, with any shortfall recovered through Stripe's standard handling for the connected account. The platform never absorbs chargeback amounts or dispute fees.
Accounts inactive for twelve (12) consecutive months (no logins, no tips received, no payouts initiated) holding a balance below the $10.00 payout floor are subject to an annual administrative maintenance fee up to the remaining balance (capped at $5.00; never creating a negative balance). Creators are notified 30 days before any assessment.
By onboarding, creators will represent that they are of legal age, will use payouts lawfully, will not process payments for prohibited goods or activities, and accept that tips are non-refundable gratuities with chargeback liability resting on their connected account.
The platform's liability for any claim is limited to the platform fees collected from the complaining party's transactions in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for creator-to-supporter disputes, chargeback outcomes, Stripe service interruptions, or bank processing delays.
Material changes to fees, holds, minimums, or liability terms require 14 days' advance notice posted on this page. The terms in effect at the time of each transaction govern that transaction.
